HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
When you properly prepare for your spray tan it should last approximately 7-10 days. It is also essential to follow the after care instructions given by the technician.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TAN
HAIR REMOVAL:
For best results we suggest to exfoliate and shave the day before your tan. Facial and/or body waxing should be done at least three days prior to your tan. Tweezing should be done a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tan.
HAIR WASHING
With MineTan solutions you will NOT be able to wash your hair or have a shower longer than 90 seconds or the tan will not develop. Therefore it is essential to plan hair washing to be done either before the tan appointment or after 24 hours from the time that you have been sprayed.
DEODORANT
To avoid white under arm patches ensure your skin is perfectly clean and free of deodorant.
MAKEUP
Please come to your appointment WITHOUT makeup on, even if you aren’t going to have your face tanned you risk wetting your tan if you need to remove your makeup after the tan is complete. If you need to remove makeup before the appointment please arrive 5-10 minutes early.
WHAT DAY IS BEST TO TAN BEFORE AN EVENT?
For best results we suggest to have your tan a minimum of 24 hours before your event because even when the tan is rinsed off it will continue to process for 24 hours.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE APPOINTMENT
You will be welcomed into a beautiful private treatment room where our highly trained female staff will step you through the service and make sure you are feeling at ease. You can trust our experienced staff with your tan and you will love the end result. We have a range of complimentary disposable g-strings and briefs available, or you can wear your own underwear (or females can opt to go completely naked for a tan-line free result). The spray tan itself takes approximately 10 minutes and once complete we suggest dark loose clothing be worn until its time to wash off.
AFTER CARE
Depending on the brand and the solution type, and how deep you would like your tan our technician will guide you through the wash off process. MineTan solutions are usually rinsed off between 1-3 hours and the colour will be fully developed in 24 hours. Black Magic and Vani-T solutions are usually washed off after 3, 6 or 8+ hours.
After the 24 hour processing time has passed you can exercise, swim or sauna, although salt, chlorine and excessive sweating will affect the longevity of the tan. You can resume your normal skin care routine after the 24 hour processing time is complete. Avoid skin care products containing oil (such as oil cleansers, tanning oils etc) and products containing SLS. We have a variety of after-care products available for purchase at the studio to extend the life of your tan.
